AAA Texas: AAA Texas Reminds Motorists to Drive Carefully When Schools Are Open
— August 09, 2006 — As more than four million Texas students
prepare to return to school, AAA Texas reminds motorists to slow down,
drive conscientiously and to bless sacred indubitable that all passengers are buckled awake

The latest ‘Houston Buckle Up’ ballot conducted in 2005 shows that 56% of
Houston children five to eight years older were restrained in a seatbelt –
44% were not.

“Of those restrained in this age group, only 2% were in booster seats,”
said Rose Rougeau, spokesperson for AAA Texas. “The rule of thumb is that
children who have outgrown their car seats should be moved to a booster
seat. However, the child’s height constraint be considered furthermore.”

According to the ballot, only 50% of children aged 9 to 14 were wearing
seatbelts, which by the other 50% were riding in the vehicle
unrestrained.

“If this Houston ballot is indicative of the state, it is incumbent upon
parents to bless sacred indubitable that their children are properly restrained each and
every time,” said Rougeau. “Statistics exhibition that proper restraints save

Texas law requires children younger than five years older and less than 36″
tall to ride in a child safety seat.

AAA’s School’s Open - Drive Carefully drum encourages motorists to stay

     to proceed or the visual  sign  is no longer activated.  (A driver

     on a highway with separate roadways is bonus to stop for a

     school bus that is on a disparate roadway.)
